NVL LADIES HEAD COACH

James Kemp

I have been involved in Volleyball for over 28-years and it’s so exciting to finally be part of a club with a real passion, desire and hunger for success!

As a coach I have been fortunate enough to have had so many quality players to work with – none more so than right now! I have always immersed myself within the sport and in particular with elite level coaches. This has helped me to develop my own philosophy and style of play, which my players buy into wholeheartedly.

My successes to date include being awarded National Children’s Coach of the Year in 2011, guiding my National League Ladies to the National Shield Final in 2012, and most recently coaching both Men’s and Ladies squads to their respective National League titles in 2016.

My goals and ambitions are high for New Forest Volleyball and I look forward to many years of success for this very unique club!

Club Director & Marketing Manager

Jo Ankers

Jo arrived at NFV as a parent to one of our Junior Girls and the club soon became aware of her exceptional talents for management. The club was delighted when Jo came on board a few years ago to look at ways of marketing the club to increase our brand. Since that initial role, Jo is now one of our Club Directors and is a key member of our day-to-day staff. Jo is extremely passionate about young people in sport and this remains a key focus of hers in ensuring our provision for our satellite clubs and academy squads is second to none.

Club Director & Treasurer

Ethel Kingston

The club is extremely fortunate to have a person as experienced and proficient as Ethel when it comes to finance. Ethel has revolutionised the way we operate as a club and does a wonderful job week-in week-out to ensure things run smoothly. Ethel is thought of very fondly by all members of the club and we hope she continues to be part of our Management Team for many years to come.

Head of Performance

Clayton Lucas

My role as the clubs Head Coach means that I oversee the training and competitive elements of the club from juniors to seniors, working closely with the club coaches to ensure a consistent and uniform delivery of information, that brings the best out of the players and the coaches.

As the assistant coach for the England Cadet Boys, I get to see the top prospects this country has to offer on a monthly basis. Working to Head Coach Luis Bello I am constantly updating and developing my coaching.

My Experience as an England and Great Britain International over a 12-year period gives me a good library of knowledge to pass on to the players and the coaches. Add in to that, I am in the process of completing my level 3 volleyball coaching award, the highest award in England.

My job as a volleyball commentator, where I sit court-side and watch the best teams in the world play the game, gives me unique access to players and coaches to discuss the game at the highest level, keeping my knowledge up to date and relevant.

Justin Whitbread

I am currently Director of Sport at Ballard School – one of our satellite schools. My philosophy in the sport is to introduce and develop grass roots Volleyball at a young age, through providing fun yet educational Volleyball at a pace that is bespoke to the child. One of my biggest successes is seeing juniors I coached when they were at school now playing NVL and representing England Cadets & Juniors.

Safeguarding Officer

Lucy Parvin

Lucy has been a keen supporter of NFV for many years and was often on the sidelines cheering our teams on in matches. So it was a no brainer when the club finally decided to ask her to join the management team. With over 15-years experience in Teaching, Lucy was only too happy to take on our Safeguarding Officer role. Since coming into post, Lucy has attended several courses/seminars and ensures all our players and staff are continuously safe to enjoy our wonderful sport of volleyball.

Club Administrator

Tony Malone

Every club needs a ‘Tony’ in their team. We were thrilled when Tony joined our Management Team to revamp our Policies and documents as his eye for detail is hugely important. Tony is currently overseeing the clubs second VolleyMark accreditation, which we all hope will be achieved in the coming months. An additional bonus is the delicious lemon drizzle cake his lovely wife Jean often spoils us all with.

Team Manager - NVL Ladies

Kirsty Fargher

As one of our founder members, Kirsty remains an integral part of the club. Currently she is our NVL Ladies Team Manager, ensuring all things training and matches are organised. As a player, Kirsty has played nearly all positions in her time with the only exception Middle Blocker – although she would give it a damn good go. Kirsty has also coached our Juniors from time-to-time, lending her experiences in the game to our young players.

Team Manager - NVL Men

Alex Lusby-Taylor

The club have been fortunate to have the services of Alex for nearly 10-years now (he and James had hair back then) and in that time he has brought so much to the club. Alex first arrived as a player (and continues to be an integral part of our NVL Men squad), but has also coached our NVL Ladies and currently is our NVL Men’s Team Manager. His knowledge of the game, both organisationally and tactically is invaluable to our club and we’re all looking forward to celebrating his and Veronica’s wedding later in the year too!
